BIAB Method
This recipe uses the BIAB (Brew In A Bag) method - everything in one pot, no separate lautering. Perfect for beginners to all-grain brewing!
Time Required
~5h brew day + 1-2 weeks fermentation + 1 week conditioning
Malt
- Wheat Malt2.7 kg
- Pilsner Malt2.2 kg
🌿 Hops
- Hallertauer Mittelfrüh (60 min)15 g
🦠 Yeast
- Safbrew WB-06 (Wheat Beer Yeast)1 packet (11.5g)
WB-06 produces typical wheat beer aromas: banana (isoamyl acetate) and clove (4-vinyl guaiacol). Higher temperature = more banana!
📦 Carbonation
- Table Sugar160g for 20L
8g sugar per liter - Wheat beer needs LOTS of carbonation!
💡 Important: For BIAB you need milled grain! Have it milled at the homebrew shop or buy your own mill.
